The school food program in Rome, Italy has undergone a transformation. Out of the 150,000 daily meals that go out to 740 public schools, 96% are made from scratch and 70% of the ingredients are organic.
The average cost of these meals are €5.03. Only €0.16 more than the non organic version. This includes all food ingredients, labor and system monitoring costs. As is often the case tax is extra.
