Day 30

Day 30

It’s one thing to return a library book that you walked out with (see Day 29) but it takes a little more strength of will to return a bag of cash that you find walking to work because your car broke down and you don’t have the money to buy a new one.

That’s what Diane Gordon, grandmother of 2, did when she found a plastic bag filled with $14,0000. Since her car broke down around a year before, the 65 year old woman walked the 3 miles to and from work 5 days a week. She found the money when she stopped at a gas station to warm up from the cold and snow. She turned in the money to the police who tracked it back to a newlywed couple.

"All I did was return something that didn't belong to me," she told the Post.

But the wife of the police officer who responded to Diane’s call, was so touched by this selfless act that she set up a GoFundMe campaign and raised enough money to buy Diane a car.
