where one cannot walk barefoot
Madagascar is home to Tsingy de Bemaraha Nature Reserve. The world’s largest stone forest and a UNESCO World Heritage site. In Malagasy, "tsingy" means "where one cannot walk barefoot." It’s an appropriate name for this place. Jagged rock formations dating to the Jurassic Period create a natural barrier protecting the animals that call this place home, many of which can’t be found anywhere else on the planet.
